Welcome to JOC
Welcome and thank you for visiting JOC!
So lets dive in...
The Background
I am a stay at home mum to one beautiful autistic son and a wife to a one of a kind supportive husband who is also neurodivergent. I live in the UK with my wonderfully diverse little family who supports me in all of my endeavours. Since meeting my husband, I have grown exponentially in happiness, health and confidence, all due to his love, care and acceptance of who I am. This happiness and love was only magnified once our son arrived.
A proud mum and wife, I have been inspired and encouraged to pursue the idea of building a small arts and crafts company of my own. Suffering from social anxiety, learning disabilities and autism, I found it hard to work a typical 9-5 job. The environments (uh the noise!), having to do things in a particular way contrary to my own and continuously having to mask to fit into societal norms with no break to be able to process things in my own time and cope with my anxiety was, and still is, overwhelming.
After our son was born, I stayed home to take care of him (yay!). Learning of our son's additional needs when he was very young, he became my work (and my pride and joy of course!). With this added challenge of being a primary carer for our son, as well as a first time parent who also has additional needs, it made finding work (and keeping it) even harder! This lead to my decision to step away from the typical run of the mill work. It was just not an option anymore.
As I was in the home a lot, I started to do small arts and crafts projects to occupy some of my down time and to help with challenge of being a new parent (also finding out around this time that I was autistic [that was a relief!]). The projects piqued my interest more and more and I dabbled in doing a variety of creative hobbies such as: photography, making body butters, soaps & sugar scrubs, wax melts, crochet projects such as blankets, hats and handbags and engaging in the more recent hobbies (and obsessions) of 5D diamond paintings and cross-stitching.
Then I had an idea...
The Idea
JOC is was founded in 2025 when I was inspired to do more with my arts and crafts projects. I am a fan of all sorts of creative delights, in particular photography, 5D diamond paintings and cross stitching. After completing a few of the generic 5D diamond paintings and cross stitch kits available online (two I customised by submitting my own photos), I started to wonder...
After taking hundreds of photographs and them sitting on my laptop not being used for any particular reason other than to be looked at by myself, I decided to merge my hobbies hobbies together, making 5D paintings and cross stitch versions of my photography. With these combinations buyers would have unique and exclusive items, as the photographs are not mass produced and are captured by yours truly. All products for sale will be completed pieces of my photographs, consisting of landscapes, the natural world and macro-photography (my fav!)
With you uniqueness of our JOC products, it will give the purchaser a one of a kind item that they will be able to keep for years to come. All pieces are made to order and can take up to 120 days (maybe longer dependent on time restraints) from purchase to complete. With the cross stitching pieces, they may take considerably longer, especially if ordered in a larger size (I am a perfectionist at heart!). I will promptly ship the piece upon completion without delay!
Made to order items can be time consuming and with lots going on at home, I kindly ask for your patience once the order has been purchased. I pride myself on the time I put into making my work as beautiful as it can be for my buyers but mainly, I want to share in providing a small piece of happiness to all who purchase my craft art. There is nothing better than passing on a gift that makes you smile and I very much hope that is achieved through my craft.
JOC wishes you all the best, hopes you enjoy looking around the website and thanks you for reading!
Happy shopping!
Love
